ISLAMABAD: The PM Laptop Scheme 2025 has been launched again, providing free laptops to thousands of university and college students all over the country. For many such families, purchasing a laptop is still beyond their reach, so the government claims that the scheme is being launched with the aim that financial pressure should not hinder students from continuing online classes, research work or even working from home as freelancers.

One of the biggest fears among the applicants has been not knowing if their name is on the list. To fix this, the government has now established an easy online mechanism that allows students to view their PM Laptop Scheme 2025 application status with only a CNIC number.
The students can check on the official PM Youth Programme website (laptop.pmyp.gov.pk), insert their CNIC, pick the university from the dropdown menu and see instantly whether their case is approved, under consideration or rejected.

The administration maintains the project, operated under the Prime Minister Youth Programme, aims to enhance digital access. Laptops enable students to participate in online classes without interruptions, make use of digital libraries, apply IT skills and, in most instances, initiate freelance or remote work to sustain their families.
Documents required for PM Laptop Scheme 2025
Most applicants are rejected just because their files are incomplete. It is told by officials that students should have the following ready while applying for the PM Laptop Scheme 2025:

- Valid CNIC or B-Form (for authentication by NADRA)
- University enrollment proof like a student ID card
- Latest transcript to validate academic status
- Latest personal information in their university’s data bank

Officials have also highlighted that most applications are failed due to preventable mistakes. Incorrect entry of the CNIC, inactive telephone numbers or email addresses, not mentioning updated academic records, or filing multiple applications in the same CNIC are some of the most frequent blunders.
For others whose names do not show up, the administration recommends contacting the university focal person initially. Complaints can also be registered through the PM Youth Programme helpline. Students would also need to recheck CNIC information at NADRA or wait for the subsequent verification round if records were updated only recently.

Even after they have been approved, students take longer than anticipated to receive their laptops.Officials attribute this to tardy university verification, missing documents and delays in shipping. In a few instances, government budget releases delay distribution as well. The tip for students: remain connected with your university and update contact information to not miss out when distribution is on.
