Sean “Diddy” Combs is attempting to have his federal conviction dismissed with his attorneys going to court today to petition for either an acquittal or a retrial.

Diddy was convicted on two charges under the Mann Act that prohibits it to transport individuals across states lines for prostitution.
The rapper’s attorneys have stated that he didn’t profit from prostitution nor did he plan any travel.
They related that Diddy was just a person who enjoyed watching and recording explicit action, describing him as an amateur pornographer.

Prosecutors, though, do not agree since they allege that he was actively involved and gave instructions during the acts and even recorded individuals against their will.
Diddy “fully participated by directing the sexual activity between escorts and victims and (expletive) during the sex episode,” they claimed.

According to TMZ, the judge is to listen to both sides today. In the meantime, Diddy’s sentencing date remains October 3.
