Additional 9mm bullet spent shells, a handbag, tissue papers and other things were picked up from the crime scene, he added.
The police said that the crime scene unit had arrived at the location and investigations were in process.
They also established that the bodies of the victims had gunshot wounds on the head, chest and hands.
The three were said to have been standing by the roadside, maybe looking for a lift, when they were attacked, according to the officials.
The attacker allegedly left after committing the assault. There were no CCTV cameras on the site of the attack, but police are scanning nearby road cameras for any leads.
The police investigators reported that the actual names of the two murdered trans individuals are Muhammad Jeel and Alex Riyasat.
As for the transgender community, however, they knew them as Ainee, Asma and Sameena, they added.

The police further stated that more evidence will come to light after post-mortem analysis.
Police were ordered to “arrest the killers at once” by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued by his office.
“Transgender people are a marginalized section of society, and we all need to provide them respect and dignity,” the statement said.
In the wake of recent tragedy, Amnesty International raised alarm over escalation of violence against trans individuals in Pakistan.
