The government has initiated the new phase of the Prime Minister’s (PM) Laptop Scheme 2025 under the PM Youth Programme for empowering students with technology and reducing Pakistan’s digital gap.
The phase offers a number of enhancements to ensure higher accessibility and transparency.
The quota for distribution has been enhanced, with students from technical and vocational institutions being eligible for the very first time.
Eligibility criteria, application status
The online application portal has also been improved, providing quicker processing, real-time tracking, and online posting of merit lists.
Students need to be enrolled in a recognized public university, college, or technical institution by HEC, possess a valid CNIC or B-Form, and have a good academic record. Those who have previously been awarded a laptop during the phases are not eligible.
PM Laptop Scheme 2025: Application status
Laptop distribution will be conducted between December 2025 and September. Successful students will be notified through email and SMS, and thus it is important for the applicants to give correct contact details.

Application process of the scheme has four statuses, namely Submitted, Under Review, Approved, and Rejected. Students can view their status by logging in to the official website with their CNIC.
Authorities have asked applicants to re-verify documents, track status, and liaise with their university’s focal person to prevent mistakes or disqualification.
Having reached out further and enhanced the system, the PM Laptop Scheme 2025 aims not just to increase access to digital tools but also to provide Pakistan’s youth with the necessary tools to succeed academically and in the career ahead.
