It has been made possible under the guidance of the national space agency, SUPARCO, and will speed up progress in a number of different sectors, such as science and technology.

The new hyperspectral satellite will have a critical application in mineral exploration, agricultural growth, flood tracking, glacier melt measurement, and air pollution research.

Addressing the opening ceremony of a workshop, SUPARCO Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Khan stated: “This satellite will give correct and sophisticated data regarding minerals, vegetation, soil, and the quality of water. Surveys, which earlier used to take years, will now be done in days.”

He further added that the venture would open the door towards sustainable and efficient utilization of natural resources, equipping policymakers and researchers with timely evidence-based policies and decisions.
