ISLAMABAD: Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information, received Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan, in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two discussed how to improve Afghanistan–Pakistan relations in general and specifically people-to-people connectivity, trade, and cooperation to tackle common security and economic concerns.
The two sides shared perspectives on matters of common interest, including the security environment in Pakistan and Afghanistan, with particular discussion on the recent waves of unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Barrister Saif emphasized that peace between Pakistan and Afghanistan is interconnected, and underscored the importance of further solidifying bilateral relations through constant engagement and dialogue.

Ambassador Shakeeb confirmed that the Afghan government is willing to cooperate extensively with Pakistan in an attempt to ensure peace and stability in the region.

In the meantime, the Jaffar Express terror attack mastermind, Gul Rahman, was eliminated in Afghanistan, reported ARY News on Saturday.
Reports indicate that Gul Rahman alias Ustad Mureed, an Indian-backed terrorist, met a mysterious death in Helmand province on September 17, 2025.

Gul Rahman was the operational commander and trainer of the Indian-backed proxy outfit Fitna al Hindustan (Majeed Brigade). He played a role in various terrorist attacks on Pakistani security personnel, civilian populations, Chinese citizens and establishments.
