KARACHI: Indus River medium flood continues at Kotri Barrage on Monday as the constantly rising level of water putting pressure over the barrage.

Water influx at Kotri Barrage in river’s downstream has risen to 3,64,000 cusecs whereas the water outflow has been 3,39,500 cusecs, details the control room.
The water surge in the river inundated Manjhand, the biggest taluka of Jamshoro district. About 70 per cent of Manjhand has been submerged under the floodwater.
The crops standing at hundreds of acres of land have been washed away by flooding. The water has also stood at an old Hindu temple and railway station.

Floodwater has reached up to the Indus Highway Sehwan and land connectivity of many villages has been cut off. Residents fleeing from the region after many villages of Jamshoro district fully submerged under water.
A previous report quoted that the floodwater drowned 130 villages in Jamshoro district and engulfed crops. Indus water has also penetrated in four villages around Petaro, while the land connection of Buddhapur, Manzoor Abad and surrounding villages was affected.

The crest flood stream passed through Guddu and Sukkur barrages as the river’s water level is receding incessantly, as per new floodwater records.
The water inflow at Guddu has remained 2,60,300 cusecs whereas the outflow has remained 2,31,500 cusecs.

The water inflow at Sukkur Barrage has decreased to 2,61,600 cusecs whereas the outflow has remained 2,06,400 cusecs.
