The spinner came up with these comments during a Society magazine function prior to the Asia Cup encounter.
“India-Pakistan matches always get into the limelight, but after Operation Sindoor, everybody used to say that there should not be any cricket and no business,” Harbhajan explained.
He explained their team boycotted the World Championship of Legends matches for the same reason.

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government followed a policy to shelve bilateral sporting relations with Pakistan except confronting the arch-rivals in multilateral tournaments.

Harbhajan, who is 45 years old, expressed that personally he is not in favour of cricket and business relations with Pakistan.
“Every person has his own perceptions and understanding, but my personal opinion is that unless there is improvement in the relationship between the two nations, cricket and business should not happen either,” he opined.
But he stated that he admires the government’s move to play against Pakistan in the mega event.
“But that is my thinking. If the government declares the match could take place, it should take place, but the relationship between the two nations could be better.
