A resolution to prohibit the use of TikTok was tabled in the Punjab Assembly.

The resolution has been tabled by opposition member Farrukh Javed Moon, in which the federal government has been sought to wholly prohibit TikTok in Pakistan.

The wording of the tabled resolution mentioned that in Pakistan, the TikTok mafia was encouraging obscenity and nakedness through live chat, which was leading the younger generation, particularly children, towards immorality.

The resolution also added that teenage boys and girls converse obscenely with one another and encourage each other toward immoral activities, which was entirely against Islamic social values.

The young generation was more and more inclined toward such platforms as TikTok for cheap fame and moneymaking, which was bringing chaos to the society.

The resolution called for this provincial assembly house demanded that the federal government ban TikTok and its live chat immediately, to save the younger generation from moral destruction.

It must be pointed out that temporary bans were issued against TikTok in Pakistan previously as well, the primary reasons for which were obscenity, immoral content and its adverse impact on the mental and moral upbringing of the users.
