Emma Watson has just pulled on heartstrings by revealing one of her largest problem, with the Hollywood scene and the fears it instilled within her, of expectations.

She explained all on the Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, and took the journey down memory lane.
As Watson says, “I was approaching those sets with a mindset that I had built up on Harry Potter, which was that the people who I would be working with were going to be my family, and that we would be best friends for the rest of our lives.”

And even in other films, “I came to work looking for friendship,” she conceded. But “that was a very painful experience for me, outside of Harry Potter and in Hollywood, bone-breakingly painful, because most people don’t come to those worlds looking for friendships.”

As Watson put it, most individuals “They’re looking for: ‘This is my chance. This is my role. This is what I want out of it. I’m focused. This is my job. This is my career.’ I was not of that mentality.

But what it actually resulted in was that she felt ‘broken’ due to the manner in which her expectations were broken. Even still at the end of the conversation she stated, “in a way, I’m proud that it did, because I guess that means I have something left to break.”
