Reliance and Adani together control close to a million acres in Kutch, developing large-scale solar and wind parks. Reliance targets integrated clean energy production, while Adani scales generation and transmission, collectively positioning India as a global clean energy leader.

Reliance has invested ₹75,000 crore in creating an integrated clean energy system, ranging from solar PV to battery, electrolyzer, and production of green hydrogen. Adani is India’s largest renewable power generator, utilizes its established network and fast-growing wind and solar capacities, with a large-scale generation and transmission focus to widen its market dominance.

Reliance Industries has acquired 5.5 lakh acres at Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch, while Adani Group holds 4.6 lakh acres in the neighborhood, making it a huge clean energy hub. Reliance is setting up a big-sized, integrated solar manufacturing complex in Gujarat with a 10GW polysilicon-to-module factory that will be expanded to 20GW. It mainly concentrates on HJT technology, while future capacities are meant to go ahead with perovskite cells, which possess the potential to achieve over 30% efficiency.

It also made a 40GWh battery gigafactory announcement where it will begin production from 2026. Reliance will be India’s first large standalone energy storage maker through this step.

Adani Green is constructing 30GW of its goal of 50GW of renewable capacity at Khavda supported by a phase-wise evacuation plan strategy along with commissioning schedules. The location has the advantage of India’s highest solar irradiation after Ladakh.

Both are building massive solar and wind parks, taking advantage of Kutch’s abundant sunlight and winds. Reliance aims for daily installations of 55 MW solar panels and 150 MWh batteries, with the goal to power as much as 10% of India’s electricity and make green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol.
