The Galaxy S25 Ultra is officially out.
Samsung’s newest Galaxy S25 Ultra was unveiled on January 22, 2025 during the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a rugged titanium frame and Corning’s glare-free glass for enhanced ruggedness. Its design has been finely tuned with the edges being rounded, creating a sleeker appearance. The integrates S Pen is still included, as well as the dependable IP68 water and dust resistance.
The 6.9-inch screen is slightly larger than its predecessor and retains the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, which has a smooth 1-120 Hz refresh rate.
Internally, you get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The Galaxy S25 Ultra retains the same battery capacity as the last model, with support for 45W fast wired charging.
Galaxy S25 Ultra launch date
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra during its Unpacked event on January 22, in addition to the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus. The flagship is available for pre-order and officially hits stores on February 7.
Galaxy S25 Ultra price
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced starting at $1,299.99. That’s the starting storage variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
There are a number of ways to save on the new Galaxy S25 Ultra, including trading in an old device or pre-ordering the phone. US carriers also have promotions and bonuses for new Samsung flagships.
Samsung: Samsung is providing trade-in credits of up to $900, so if you have an eligible device to trade in, you might save a lot of money on your upgrade.

AT&T: This carrier also has some great deals. Most prominently, you can score a Galaxy S25 Ultra on AT&T with an eligible trade-in (min. value of $230) and an appropriate plan (beginning at $75.99/mo.). That discounts you as much as $1,300 on the top phone across 36 months!
So, from what you can see, there are several ways to score a flagship Galaxy phone for less.
Galaxy S25 Ultra camera
Galaxy S25 Ultra retains the tried-and-tested camera configuration but introduces one major upgrade: the ultra-wide angle camera is now a 50MP, a big improvement from the 12MP of the old model.
200 MP primary sensor with OIS
50 MP periscope telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom
10 MP secondary telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom
50 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor
12 MP front camera
Other than the addition of the ultra-wide camera, nothing else has changed. You can verify it yourself from the table below, where we have contrasted it with the previous generation’s camera configuration.
In the Galaxy S25 Ultra, AI elevates mobile photography and videography to new heights. Samsung is going all out with AI and machine learning this time around, and the focus is on enhancing the performance of the camera, particularly for its flagship.

Aside from the hardware, there are software upgrades that introduce image processing upgrades with better low-light capture, more advanced image stabilization, and even crisper portrait photos.

Galaxy S25 Ultra storage
The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s starting model features 256 GB of storage space, with 512 GB and 1 TB also on offer, of course. In Europe and the US, it’s only available in 12 GB RAM, though, which should be more than enough to drive all those AI options that are crammed into this top-of-the-line device.

Galaxy S25 Ultra design
The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in a new design, this time featuring rounded edges. When it comes to dimensions, the phone is 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm. Compared to the 162.3 x 79.0 x 8.6 mm of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the S25 Ultra is not only narrower and thinner but also slightly taller.
Samsung retained the titanium frame, the S24 Ultra’s signature feature, and it continues to be a central element of the S25 Ultra design.

The iconic S Pen remains, as expected, but with one drawback: the loss of Bluetooth support, so Air Gestures are no longer present.
Durability-wise, the S25 Ultra still has its IP68 level of water and dust protection, so it’s a great option for anyone looking for a rugged phone.
Color-wise, the flagship version is available in:
Titanium White Silver
Titanium Silver Blue
Titanium Gray
Titanium Black
Titanium Pink Gold (online-only)
Titanium Jet Black (online-only)
Titanium Jade Green (online-only)

Galaxy S25 Ultra display
The Galaxy S25 Ultra screen gets a tiny bump up to 6.9 inches. In fact, the Galaxy S25 Ultra screen is 6.9 inches diagonally across the full rectangle, or 6.8 inches if you round the corners off. Remember, the actual amount you see is slightly less because of the rounded corners and the camera cutout.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra still features a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, just as before. It also retains the dynamic refresh rate, which permits the screen to change between 1 Hz and 120 Hz depending on what is being displayed on the screen.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra also retains one of its predecessor’s most brilliant features: Gorilla Glass Armor. This reduces glare and greatly enhances screen visibility when you’re outside.
Galaxy S25 Ultra battery
Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with a 5,000 mAh battery. To charge it, you have 45W wired charging, or wireless charging up to 25W. With the 45W charging adapter (separately purchased), you can charge the phone up to 65% in approximately 30 minutes.

Further, the phone has Wireless PowerShare, so you can power your Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch straight from your phone. Just note that this is compatible with Samsung devices or other models that have Qi wireless charging capabilities.
Galaxy S25 Ultra features and software
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is pre-installed with One UI 7, running on Android 15. One UI 7 introduces some of the biggest updates Samsung has ever made, with some big changes to the design and interface. You’re getting an overhauled lock screen, a new overview screen, a split Notification Panel and Quick Settings, new battery improvements, and the best Galaxy AI additions.
Galaxy AI
The S25 Ultra is the best device to use to get Samsung’s latest generative AI advancements both on-device and in the cloud. Galaxy AI has been one of our go-to features from last year’s family, and this year’s model does everything that’s already great and takes it even better.

The S25 Ultra is accompanied by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Constructed by TSMC, the chip was launched in October 2024. Both the performance cores on the Snapdragon 8 Elite have a clock speed of up to 4GHz. That’s a big leap from the 3.3GHz of the Cortex-X4 of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra release date & price news
With the new chipset, the Galaxy S25 series enjoys a big performance uplift, which enables it to perform more on-device AI workloads without compromising anything, such as tasks like Generative Edit that previously depended on the cloud.
Samsung and Qualcomm collaborated to tailor the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy. Due to this partnership, the Galaxy S25 series has enhanced AI-processed image capture, enhancing display image scaling by 40%. It also incorporates Samsung’s mobile Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) in the processor by using Galaxy-specific technology, streamlining display power efficiency.
On top of that, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is loaded with Vulkan Engine and higher Ray Tracing to ensure smoother and more realistic mobile gaming than ever.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra release date & price news
Aside from its fast chipset, Galaxy S25 Ultra also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and naturally, 5G connectivity.
